Welcome to our daily Rosary meditation.

We are on our journey of Advent and we're immersing ourselves

in the different aspects of the life of Jesus as we prepare for Christmas,

but also to consecrate ourselves to Mary. On January 1st, the feast of the mother of God.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for.

After the multiplication of the bread where Jesus feeds the thousands of hungry people,

he tells the apostles to get into the boat and cross to the other side while he goes up in the hills overlooking the sea of

Galilee to pray.

Late that night, as they struggled against a strong headwind,

the men in the boat look across the water and see a man. But how can it be a man?

He's walking to them through the storm and he's walking on the water.

Everyone in the boat is understandably astonished, who wouldn't be?

But one of them has a completely unexpected reaction.

He squinted through the pounding rain at this miracle,

this wild, fantastical sight, and he thinks I want to do that and he calls to the Lord

if that's really you tell me to come out to you, let me try.

And Jesus says, come.

And Peter steps out and he walks on the water. At least he does until he starts to sink.
