All right, I want to welcome everyone to the first of these where I'm going to start

releasing episodes every week where I'm reading through and commenting on books that I want to read.

And I hope that you guys enjoy them.

I'm picking ones that I'm very interested in reading myself.

Many of these I may just be reading for the first time and you may be experiencing

that with me this isn't one of them but yeah welcome and I hope this catches on I

know that people have enjoyed the read-alongs before. I will have guests sometimes, but a lot of the times I'm just going to do this because I have the time to do it and I'm just going to jump in and start reading books and I'm going to read them front to back and try to release two, maybe even three episodes a week doing this.

So the first book I chose is a book by I think really the best way to describe it is it's based upon the thought of Peter Teal and because it was written by Blake Masters. I'm sure some of you heard that name. He ran for Senate out of Arizona in 2022 and lost.

It was no one hid the fact that he was backed by Peter Teal.

And the reason I chose this book to start with is because I'm trying to look at things from different perspectives in the past and coming out of

Libertarianism and reading Austrian economics there are all of these set answers that you have to everything and one of those things

that I think is very evident from anybody who's listened to Austrian economists is that monopolies are bad or I don't

know that Austrian economists would say monopolies are bad they would say that

they're unnatural a lot of communists and socialists would say, oh, if it was a free market, there would be monopolies, and that makes it a bad thing. But Austrian economists say, you know there be you could start up a you could start your own Amazon and and compete against Amazon.

Well, one of the reasons I picked this book is because the argument is made in this book that monopolies are how you innovate.

It's not the only argument that's made in here, but it's one of the most important ones as to why I pick this book.
