Pete Hegseth went from being a tatted-up, Fox News weekend host with a frat-boy persona to being Secretary of Defense. It's going as well as any rational person might have expected. That is to say, according to insiders, reporting, and our own eyes and ears, it’s a disaster. His time at the Pentagon has been marked by leaked classified information, paranoia-driven purges of senior staff, and an obsession with dismantling diversity programs, even if it means erasing sacred military history.
