The Las Vegas Raiders have agreed to make Pete Carroll, their next head coach, on a three-year deal with an option for the fourth year. And it's an interesting hire in general, but the subplot of Carroll getting selected is way, way more juicy.

You see, Tom Brady is a minority owner of the Raiders. And while the Davis family runs the show,

there is no way that you don't put a lot of stock into what the greatest quarterback of all time thinks when choosing a new head coach.

And from a 30,000 foot view, it seems like Brady not only wanted Carol over Bill Belichick, his former boss,

but he wanted the exact opposite archetype of Belichick because that's who Pete Carroll really is.

Not only is Carol a defensive guy, but his personality

traits are on the opposite end of the spectrum as Belichick's. While both are up there in age

in their early 70s, Bill is cold and prickly, while Pete is vibrant and seems to be pretty easy
