Many people feel like they have a real bond with their pets.

Their beloved dogs and cats are sensitive to their owner's moods and know what they're feeling.

Perhaps reaching out to give them special comfort in moments where the owner is sad or hurting.

At times, it's like they know exactly what their owners are thinking, and some owners are convinced that that's literally true. They believe that they have a

telepathic connection with their pets. Could this be right? How would this

connection manifest and what is the scientific evidence say?

Well, that's what we'll be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Yakin's mysterious world.

Jimmy, how do you want to begin today's mystery? By giving credit where credit is due, most of the research that we're going to be talking about today has been done by a British scientist named Rupert Sheldrake.

He's researched more topics than just what we're going to be talking about today and he has unique

theories that he's explored to explain his research findings but today we're going to be

looking at some of his research related to pet telepathy.

We'll look at other aspects of his work in the future.

Sheldrake was born in 1942 in England, so he's 81 years old today. He has a PhD in

biochemistry from Cambridge University. He's done pioneering research in

plant biology including on plant hormones and apoptosis or cell death.
