A new book today, Galatians.

There we are.

So let's get into it, man.

I love the book of Galatians, and I think you will too.

It's a book that we should all really know and be familiar with.

And I think it's so relevant for today what Paul has to do with the church at Galatia, or I should say church is.

But before we go into Galatians, I don't want to get too jumpy. I'm excited to get into Galatians.

But you know how for every New Testament truth, there's an Old Testament picture?

Well, in a way, Galatians has a picture in the Old Testament

that I think is perfect, and you may overlook it. You may not even have known it. There's a story

that I want you to see, and it's found in First Kings 13, so keep your finger in Galatians,

but go with me to First Kings, Chapter 13. And, you know, I always say,

you know, the best commentary on the Bible is the Bible. And I think that people miss out on that.

It's this complex interwoven matrix of information from God. That's one of the fingerprints of God on the scripture.

What makes the Bible different than Homer's Iliad or Gilgamesh

or all those other, you know, ancient writings or whatever?

The Bible clearly has God's fingerprints all over it.

No other book in the world has that. But this is one of

those sort of stories that ties it all together, if you ask me. So we started with this Old

Testament picture. After Solomon's reign, which was really the pinnacle and the peak of

Israel's history,

that's when things started going downhill.
