If you ever have the occasion to visit a Jewish synagogue, you will notice a large cabinet in the front of the sanctuary where they keep the Torah scrolls. It's called the ark.

And quite often, they will have the Hebrew words, Da

Lifni Miata Omed, engraved over the top of the ark. The words mean, know before whom you stand.

They serve as a reminder or a sentinel to conduct yourself properly in the presence of God's

Word and remember the reverence of the place and the moment.

To be clear, God is the eternal, sovereign creator of the universe who was, is and is to come.

He provides, heals, and guides us by his grace to salvation through his son

Jesus Christ he is that god but truthfully don't we all occasionally diminish his deity by approaching

him too casually may be referring to God as the big

guy or the man upstairs. Do you ever approach his throne too casually in a way less befitting

who he is, impatient for his response to you.

Well, this meditation from Psalm chapter 2 is a reflection on approaching Elohim, the Creator

God, with the patient awe and wonder befitting Him.

Coming patiently before Yahweh, the great I am, with a sense of adoration, embracing,

celebrating, and yes, even a bit of trembling.

So to begin, whether at first or last light, allow the next 15 minutes to be a time of

patient reverence, a time set apart for holy
