But now, let's get into our first paranormal encounter.

I'm a healthcare assistant.

I work in long-term care just outside of Vancouver in Canada.

This is the last home for all the residents that come here to live. We operate at a capacity of 120 residents. There are eight wings in total,

one of which is a locked unit which houses 16 residents.

This behavioural unit is for residents who are likely to hurt themselves or others.

This unit has safety features that the rest of the units in the building do not.

For example, there's a panic room with an electric steel shudder that rolls tight to protect staff from dangerous residents who were activated.

I've had to use that panic room. It was scary but not paranormal. I've worked in this

unit in temporary postings of up to about a year at a time. The last time I was awarded a

position in the unit, I had an unexplainable experience and that's what I wanted to share.

My shift is 3pm to 10pm and it was approximately a quarter to 10.

My partner and I had settled all of her residents into bed and the lights were dimmed.
