I was 27 when this happened. At 27 I was not the greatest person to be around at times.

I was selfish and always seemed to be creating problems for myself and other people.

And the truth is when my life fell apart at that time, I could not even pretend to be blindsided by it.

I had cheated on my girlfriend and once she found out, that was it. We had been together for three years.

We had been living in a small rented place outside Jackson, Mississippi.

Pretty much within an hour of her confronting me.

I was throwing my clothes into a bag and unloading them into my car. She told me to leave and I went. And for the next

five nights I slept in my car. I kept moving around so nobody would notice. One night I parked

outside of Walmart and then I'd moved to behind a church or just find a quiet spot. During the day,

I still went to work and was really tired and too embarrassed to tell anybody what I had done
