Welcome to One Minute Scripter Study, a Come Follow Me podcast. We are your host, Kristen Walker

Smith and Kelly Black. Hey friend, it's Kristen. Grab your scriptures and let's dive in to Moses

7, verse 21. So I recently started coaching my daughter's recreational volleyball team,

0:19.5

despite my lack of experience, I literally have

0:22.1

no experience. They were desperate. But with the help of two amazing moms who offered their

0:26.9

actual expertise, we went through a bunch of drills each practice to learn how to bump and set and

0:32.0

spike and serve properly. But despite all the work that these girls did, by the end of the season, they still weren't perfect,

0:39.3

and they needed a lot of practice. The girls would get frustrated with themselves, but I could

0:44.6

see how far they'd come and always express my joy when they made even the smallest amount of

0:49.7

progress. I think it's the same for God in us. We feel mired down in our sins and our weaknesses. We get

0:57.0

frustrated that despite our constant efforts, we still don't have things quite right. Which is why I love

1:02.6

the story of Enix people and their path to perfection. Part of their story reads, quote,

1:07.9

and lo, Zion in process of time was taken up into heaven.

1:12.9

Even God's Zion people didn't become perfect overnight. It was the process of a lifetime.

1:18.4

It included repenting, trying harder, and then repenting again. It included the Savior's grace

1:23.8

strengthening them while they worked their very hardest. It took billions of seconds and

1:28.5

millions of minutes and thousands of hours of effort. And that's how it'll be for us. Learning to

1:33.8

become like God isn't a race. We're not being timed and it doesn't even matter when we get there.

1:39.1

We just need to keep heading in the right direction until perfection comes in process of time. So the takeaway of the

1:46.8

day in five words or less is, perfection is a lifelong process. Thanks so much for being here today

1:53.6

and for coming closer to Christ with me one minute at a time. Hey, parents, have you broached the topic

2:00.7

of Joseph Smith's plural marriages yet with your kids or race in the priesthood?
