Summary

Peptides are everywhere right now—from GLP-1s and weight loss to anti-aging and recovery—but what’s actually real, and what’s just hype?

Kelly sits down with five-time bestselling author and peptide expert Jay Campbell to break it all down in a way that actually makes sense. They cover what peptides are, why they’ve suddenly exploded in popularity, and how they connect to things like GLP-1 medications.

The conversation also gets into the gray areas—what’s clinically backed vs. experimental, the real benefits people are seeing, and the risks that aren’t being talked about enough. Kelly asks the questions most people are thinking about, including FDA regulation, “research use only” labels, and what you’re actually getting if you buy peptides online.

They also talk transparency, safety, and the bigger picture: are we optimizing our health… or skipping over what our bodies actually need?

If you’ve been curious but overwhelmed by the peptide conversation, this episode gives you a clear, grounded place to start

0:54.6

It's overwhelming when you start even researching it because you just don't know what is left from right because there's so many opinions.

It seems highly unregulated to me.

And it's just hard to know where to start.

So we're going to answer these questions today and really get into it.

1:10.6

I feel like we need to just start with the basics. What are peptides? Yeah, great question. And by the way, I echo your sentiments. In fact, it's actually 100% true. It is the Wild Wild West. And just to establish a little bit of credibility, you said the 90s, I wish, I don't even know if they were eating peptides around in the 90s. Oh, that's what I thought. It's okay.

1:30.3

I started in 2000. You said the 90s. I wish. I don't even know if there were even peptides around in the 90s.

1:28.5

That's what I thought. It's okay. I started in 2003. So obviously I've been using peptides for a long time. And I call them obviously, you know, therapeutically, it's really hard to overdose peptides unless you use GLP1s,, which we'll talk about, I'm sure, at some point on this.

1:45.9

But, I mean, peptides are literally just chains of amino acids or organic signaling molecules that are found naturally occurring in the human body.

1:54.9

And really, the longer the chain of the amino acids, the more likely that it has to be injected versus transnormally absorbed

or intra-nasally absorbed or even orally consumed.

2:07.9

And we can get into the differences.

I mean, I think it's important for your audience to understand that injectable peptides,
