Girl, I am so excited that you're here for today's episode because we're going to talk about the contrast of the human experience and how we can make sure that we're not going through life living this like a mediocre so-so life in any aspect of our life because of what we're going to talk about today.

1:06.0

So just to give you a little bit of context, I was listening into the Ed Mylett podcast where he interviewed a man named Colin O' Brady.

1:13.0

I was on my flight to San Diego and I was just like wanting to get myself really pumped up and Colin O' Brady is a total badass.

1:20.0

If you don't know about his story, he's done a ton of physical challenges and broken all sorts of world records.

1:27.0

But what I think is really crazy that he did and so inspiring is he trekked across Antarctica.

1:33.0

The first man to do this, unassisted.

1:36.0

Okay, what I mean by that is like no dogs, he literally packed all of his food for like 60 days to go trekk across Antarctica and he like had to push his own sled.

1:47.0

Which I mean, just think about that.

1:49.0

Obviously there's physical challenge of like pushing a sled for that long and being in like negative degree weather, doing something that nobody's ever done before.

1:57.0

But then on top of that, it's the mental challenge because I think about just being alone for 60 days, having to pump yourself up and just like stay in the game to stay consistent at doing something that you have no proof that you're even going to survive getting to the end of doing this.

2:12.0

Like he is such a mental badass and then obviously, you know, physically he's really strong too.

2:16.0

But anyway, I was listening into his interview and it made me think back to when I actually met him in person.

2:24.0

So if you've listened into this podcast for a while, you may or may not know that my husband, Sina and I did this crazy physical challenge called 29 0 29 Everstein last August.

2:36.0

And Colin and Jesse Itzler are actually the two people that created this challenge.

2:41.0

They wanted to make a physical event that would be really hard for people to do.

2:46.0

That was the equivalent of hiking Mount Everest without the risk of like, you know, potentially dying since people die hiking Mount Everest.

2:54.0

And so they call it 29 0 29 because it's 29,029 feet is the elevation gain to hike Mount Everest.

3:01.0

And they do it in a couple of different locations. My husband, Sina and I did it in Utah.

3:05.0

And for our event, you've got 36 hours, you had to hike up this mountain and then ride the gondola down.

3:11.0

It was done at a ski lift. So hike up the mountain, ride the gondola down and do that 13 times within 36 hours, which was, you know, 29 miles and 29,029 feet elevation gain.

3:21.0

We did not sleep for 31 hours. It was totally intense. It was so badass. I was talking to a woman on the mountain that was like, this is way harder than natural childbirth.
