Today you'll learn about why giving babies foods with peanuts could crack the peanut

Anyone with school-age kids knows the struggle.

You can send fruit to school, you can send crackers, you can send all kinds of things, but not peanuts.

Right, peanut allergies are wild. I know that some kids are so allergic they can't even be in the same room with peanuts and the

problems peanuts are in like all sorts of stuff crackers snacks candy yeah

totally and for lots of people it's not just like an itchy sneezy kind of

allergy peanuts can cause anaphylaxis, making the throat

swell shut. A drop in blood pressure will make you dizzy and light-headed or even lose consciousness.

And then there's the vomiting and nausea, the hives, the swelling of the face, the lips, the tongue.

It's, it's really not pretty.

And by some measures, up to around 5% of American school-age kids suffer from peanut allergy.

I have heard that some kids can kind of like outgrow it.

That's right.

Some estimates say that around 20% of kids will eventually outgrow it.
