Summary

All of us desire peace in our homes, but how can we find it with so many competing priorities? In this message, Pastor Andy Wood explores God's design for bringing lasting peace into our families. Drawing from Psalm 128 and James 3, Pastor Andy shares how to catch God's vision for your home, order your priorities with worship of God as the foundation, and shape daily habits that sow seeds of peace. Learn practical ways to gather around the table, speak affirming words, and root out bitter envy and selfish ambition that destroy relationships. Whether you're single, a young parent, or a grandparent, you'll be encouraged to persevere and trust God for strength. Peace requires willingness to keep sowing in faith, knowing a harvest of righteousness is coming. God has a vision for your home, and there's still time to align your heart with His design.

Today's a great day. God is doing some phenomenal things, and we're in the middle of a series called The Path to Peace. I've loved these few weeks as we've been looking at God's desire

and design for us to live with greater levels of peace and our hearts, our minds, our homes.

In just a moment, I'm going to jump into the message, but I do want to do a little moment of confession here. How many of you normally attend the 9 a.m. service out of curiosity? Okay, just a few of you guys. You might not know this, but there was some event in the city today where the roads were closed coming into church. And they told me last night, right before I left and came to church today, to, like, remember, you cannot get to church the roads are closed at a couple spots. I forgot. Anybody else? That happened to you? Okay. Yeah. So we're together. The ADHD folks, we're here. And we're glad you're here. Wherever you are on your journey of faith today, whether this is your first time in church

1:11.2

or you've been coming for a long period of time, this subject of peace is one of the most

pertinent and significant topics of our day.

1:19.4

There was a recent study that was done by the Barnett Institute, and as they surveyed the

landscape, one of the questions they asked is, what is the deepest need of your life?

1:28.0

And the top was inner peace. There's this longing for inner peace in our heart. So we've been looking

1:33.4

at some very key areas that we need God's peace. We started in the first week talking about our

1:38.8

heads, our minds, and how our thought life, when it's fixed on God, there's a kind of peace that we

1:44.1

experience. And then last week, we looked at the peace that God wants us to have in our hearts, that we can trust in Kim and the emotions, kind of the center core of who we are, that we can fix our thoughts and our hearts on God and experience his peace. So today, we're going to focus in on the home that God wants you to have peace in your home.
