| 0:46.7 | It's because on Saturday there was a couple hosting a gender reveal party about 80 miles east of Los Angeles |
| 0:51.5 | And they decided they wanted to do their reveal with a smoke bomb. |
| 0:54.5 | But when that smoke bomb ignited, it also ignited the extremely dry vegetation around it, |
| 0:59.2 | which resulted in that couple and their family unsuccessfully trying to put that fire out |
| 1:02.9 | with water bottles. It then began to quickly spread, and as of this morning, that fire has burned |
| 1:07.4 | through roughly 10,000 acres. It is about 16% contained, so it is largely uncontrolled, |
| 1:12.8 | but that number is up from 7% last night. It has also forced 21,000 people to evacuate their |
| 1:18.5 | home, and because of this incident, we've seen Cal Fire, reminding people that a lot of the state |
| 1:22.1 | is under incredibly dry conditions and that it is fire season, with them also issuing a warning |
| 1:25.9 | against these types of activities, saying, those responsible for starting fires due to negligence or illegal activity can be held financially and criminally responsible. In fact, the people involved in this incident will likely face at least misdemeanor charges, but they could also face felonies since the fire has now already spread to forest land. One of the things that is troubling is that this is not an isolated incident. |
