0:05.2	As I mentioned last week, the PDS is on a hiatus this week.
0:07.8	But today and on Thursday, we have solo focus stories.
0:10.4	And today, we're going to be taking a look at White House press briefings because seemingly over the past year and a half they have almost completely disappeared.
0:15.6	Or as the New York Times put it, White House press briefings during the Trump administration have gone from must-cTV to practically canceled after just two seasons.
0:23.2	And on-camera press briefings have actually become so rare under Trump
0:26.0	that the administration currently owns the record for the longest time span without one.
0:29.2	But who or what is to blame for the lack of briefings?
0:31.8	Well, it kind depends on who you ask.
0:33.7	Some of the president's supporters claim that the press
0:35.4	treats Sarah Sanders, the current White House
0:37.0	Press Secretary unfairly, and that's a sentiment that Trump has echoed.
0:39.8	In January, we saw the president tweet,
0:41.2	the reason Sarah Sanders does not go to the quote
0:43.0	podium much anymore is that the press covers her so rudely and inaccurately in particular
0:47.1	certain members of the press I told her not to bother the word gets out anyway most will
0:50.8	never cover us fairly and hence the term fake news.
0:53.4	But others have claimed the White House is trying to be less transparent and accessible by
0:56.6	holding fewer briefings.
0:57.6	And actually after Trump's previous tweet that we mentioned, the White House Correspondents Association
