as we hear tonight's sleep story hello i'm tyler thanks for joining me tonight for sleep scriptures

as we hear the book of ephesians in the new international version this book was written by Paul from prison in Rome

years after visiting Ephesus Paul starts the book by praising God for what he's done

through Christ that we as believers are now adopted into his family through Jesus we are offered

forgiveness we were dead in sin but now we live through Jesus has resurrected life because of God's grace.

It's Paul's prayer that the Ephesians would experience the power that raised Jesus from

the dead and that they would live as a new unified humanity in peace and be strengthened by God's spirit to be able to grasp the love of Christ

Paul then challenges the Ephesians to respond to the gospel message by building up the church although many types of people make up the church

we are unified by one spirit he encourages the church to take off their old

humanity and put on the new humanity by living in the spirit we must

guard against the attacks of the enemy and grow in mature as followers of Christ the

book of Ephesians paints a picture of how we should live our lives in light of how

Jesus lived his life.

We are reconciled to one another through His mercy as a new creation.

Allow that mercy to flow over you right now Ephesians two four and five says because of his

great love for us God who is rich in mercy made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions,
