The first when you mentioned that your grandmother made Mayhau Jelly brought back a memory. My sister and brother-in-law onto cabin on the Trinity River and there were

berries there but I didn't know what they were but one of the neighbors told me so I picked them

she said there were mayhiles I picked them and made jelly I know you're from

orange so you probably know where Deweyville Texas is? I was actually born in Deweyville.

Oh really? Well I heard of this place and it was called Calbert Farms.

Now, this has been 20 years ago.

And it says, I tend to do Eville Highway 12. Okay, so I drove over there.

Well, first I had to order the berries because they went real fast.

And that's what they do. Now, whether they because they make

make wonderful jelly and that's what they do now whether they still do or not I don't know but it may they

make wonderful jelly and over the years I had recipes but I got more like my grandmother and just made things, you know, you have to know the size of the pan, you know, how many berries and all that. So I kind of do it by that now. But I haven't made

Mayah jelly in a number of years, but I did last week make pair of preserves.
