The commanders made the two biggest headlines in the NFL trading Montess sweat to the Chicago Bears for a second round pick. And chase young. Yes. That chase young. The former number two number two overall pick. It's traded to San Francisco 49ers for a comp third.

Don't don't let people out of you and tell you it's a third. It's a comp third. It's after the full third round is over.

Ron Rivera tried to explain the decision making your drop.

Well, I think again, when you look at some of the things that that have happened for us this year and in terms of growth and development, looking at what's happening on the quarterback position, you know, we feel really good about who Sam is becoming for us.

And again, looking at some of the things that are going on and with the compensation we're getting for these players, you know, it's going to give us an opportunity to continue to build for the future and do things a little differently.

So yeah, there may be a little bit of a shift in terms of paradigm and how we're going to construct things, you know, and been a lot of things that we have talked about, you know, it's been an interesting 10 days probably as far as those things are concerned.

Okay, you made these trades because your organization is moving in a new direction, you're already allocating too much money to your defensive line.

These guys have somewhere between underperformed and not maybe lived up to the hype and probably the new ownership once to start putting their stamp on the operation.

And yet the answer we get big man is about the quarterback.

I understand sort of maybe the direction he was trying to go in, had they been able to get a quarterback earlier in his tenure that maybe things would have been different on the defensive side of the ball.

But big picture, this is a Ron Rivera is of, you know, of the ultimate magnitude.

He loves talking about what's interesting and what's important.

Well, he's certainly very interested in trying to shape the narrative around this team as opposed to what's important, which is putting your head in the playbook and figuring out how to win football games.

And it's been something that Ron has been involved in since he got here since the Carson Wentz.

I'm the guy, I watch the guy he wants to control the narrative.

And to me, I'm less concerned about what the public and the media and everyone else thinks about what's happening with this football team.

I'd rather see a head coach put his head in the books, figure out how to win football games and forget about all the noise happening outside the building.
