And the commanders of trade in Montez Sweat to the Chicago Bears for a second round pick. Now should there be more trades we may have to recalibrate the pod.

There's about I don't know a little more than an hour to have left before the dead love on but the sweat trade is big enough to react to immediately the big man joins me as always I want to start just by reacting to this.

And so many people I mean I get so many calls for the radio tweets DMs all of it about people that want changes to the staff they want Ron fire they want Del Rio fired this is more important than that.

This had a timeline this had an expiration period and if you're going to build for the future with a guy that you probably know you're not going to sign because at some point you got to make some strategic decisions about how much money you're going to commit to your defensive line.

You got to get it done by Tuesday at four o'clock and they got it done a second round pick by from the Bears especially could have a ton of value is the season and today and it doesn't what if it did they'd have the 11th 33rd and 43rd picks I believe my math is right maybe 34th pick 35th pick rather that is three picks inside the top 45 that's a lot of value that gives you some ammunition to trade up trade back.

Get more picks and to me perhaps what is most telling is if you're Ron Rivera and you are chasing a seven seed this season it's highly unlikely you want to trade away Montesswey he's a very good player.

But I think it's entirely possible that there will be significant changes and then for everybody that wants to scream about oh but these guys can't draft why are you getting more draft picks.

Frankly I don't think these guys will be in charge of the draft I don't know that they're still going to be the coaches but I certainly don't believe they're going to be in charge of the draft I think this is a very positive move for the commanders this organization for far too long has been reactionary app hazard short-sighted chasing the sugar high of an immediate playoff birth I think the Harris organization is going to think big picture building vital teams not chasing six seeds hello Mitchell.

Low JP I think you hit on a lot of the most important things I mean I think this is organizational maturity it's the first time that you see in a real signal that this franchise is looking towards the future in that finishing right around 500 with a chance to slip into the playoffs isn't good enough and you know it's something we we yelled about on the last podcast after the Eagles game closes and good enough.

And this was a kind of a practical move a responsible move and it shows the evolution of where this franchise is going and you know Monteswet is a good player obviously going to be sad to miss him on the football field and you know all the things that he does he's a good guy in the locker room you know all those different things but this team as a whole wasn't getting it done and wasn't doing enough and you got to start building towards winning meaningful football games

and those meaningful football games don't happen in November and December they happen in January and February and adding a second round pick especially as high as the second round pick seems like it's going to be is is a great move and three picks in the top 50 is huge for an organization that's building and it gives you the ammunition that if you feel like you need to move up in the draft you have the ammunition to move up in the draft if you are trusting of your you know the folks you have in charge of the draft board.

Of the draft board they can get three impact players right away and you know past results don't dictate future past whatever the saying is don't dictate the future just because the commanders and not just the round of air group but other other front offices have been here haven't done well in the you know first second third rounds of drafts doesn't mean that the next group won't and you better believe that Josh Harrison company are going to be looking for somebody to take advantage of the bounty that they're that they're being provided.

Yeah I mean I don't even know if we're they got one additional seven I don't know that it's a bounty yet but I think it is is certainly encouraging and like you said the three in the top 45 listen we Josh Harrison over the team one week before training camp started his hands were tied he's not been there a little while he seemed on field product he's seen behind the scenes how they're

roster building frankly I think this draft class is really underperforming at a really inopportune time for Ron Rivera and Marty Herney I think we know that the first football move Harris is made is hiring the student Eugene Shen the analytics dude that's been in the Baltimore organization Jacksonville organization Miami organization that's his first football move now he is listen.

People are so caught up in who's making the calls right now.

Whoever's making the calls when you trade months as sweat you're you're looping in the owner if it is if somebody in Atlanta if it is trading away at first rounder if how he rose or or build Bella check whoever it is if John Lynch with San Francisco at all the success they've had they're looping the owner it and the owner could say yes no the owner could say you know let's make sure we make this

trade let's make sure we start to acquire here so the ownership is involved and to me this is the first real step of the implementation of a broader vision and what the organization has had in a long time and I think it's a very positive step now I know a lot of people who have 90 sweat jerseys and sweat has been a good player here by and large he's been durable there was the one year he lost his brother and he broke his jaw and missed some time.

So I understand if your reaction is all men it sucks to lose months as sweat that's correct but you can't think of like when I think about the ACC I think about being in college when Maryland played a round rub around Robin in the best college hoops conference probably ever put together sorry biggies fans and they played every game home and home UVA Carolina wake was good then and of course do right like that's what I think of but the ACC now is Louisville versus Sarah.
