Welcome into Tom Caren's Patriots Talk podcast featuring the great Phil Perry.

We are two, two, two, two, cut them two practices into the 2020 three Patriots training

camp.

Phil and I have told you on many platforms that this is a ramp up period for the first three

practices.

Phil, I get an observation to make about camp in general over the first two days.

And that is, unlike 2020, 2021 and 2022, this is a drama-free, stress-free camp.

There's no competition between Mack Jones and Cam Newton. There's

no competition between Cam Newton and Jared Stidham and a successor to Tom Brady. There's no

defensive coordinator trying to coordinate an offense. It's just kind of football so far. And I think

that's going to be to the good.

I agree with you.

And I would say specifically when it comes to the offense in the quarterback position, right?

I think it's hard to say completely drama-free when one of your starting cornerbacks is facing trial mid-August for gun charges,

but by and large, especially on that side of the ball, which we know is what,

like it or not, wins and loses football games in 2023,

to have that stress level ratcheted down in some ways.

And it's just such an interesting year there, right?

Because all of those things you mentioned, not an issue.
