Keone White joins the Patriots as a second round pick.

Phil loves.

Marte Mapu joins the Patriots as a third round pick.

Not as delighted about that.

And certainly the Patriots have plenty of needs to address that we anticipated coming on

offensive tackle and wide receiver and even tight end that they haven't done yet. People are in an

uprising over that. Phil, before we get to the uprising and Marte Mapu, let's talk about instant

impact from Keon White. Can he have it? Who's he like among the edge group the Patriots right now have?

He's probably closest to Dietrich Wise in that he's 6'5, 34 inch arms, 10 inch hands, all kinds of

length, 285 pounds Tom. This is a supersized edge defender in Bill Belichick's defense, about 20 pounds heavier than Matthew Judon.

And yet can do some of the same things that Judon can do athletically.

So you'd be comfortable having him on the edge first and second down.

On third down, Judon doesn't always do this,

although he does end up rushing from the interior

on some of the games and stunts that they run.

You could line up Keon White inside the way they do with Dietrich Wise on a guard,

on a center and feel good about him there in a passing situation.

He's also athletic enough to run with a running back on a wheel route down the sideline.
