What's up everybody? Welcome into the next Pat's podcast. I'm Phil Perry. We have breaking news as we record. We were about an hour into the new league year for the National Football League. And Calvin Ridley is signed and is not by the Patriots.

By now you probably know he's been signed by the Tennessee Titans,

swooping in, stealing Ridley from both the Jaguars and the Patriots.

The Patriots interest in Calvin Ridley was real.

We know that.

They love the versatility.

They love the fact that he brought enough

in the way of juice that he would give opposing defenses and defensive coordinators something

to think about. We know that they want to build a better receiver room around the quarterback

situation. However, that fully forms over the course of the next few months.

This is something that, in my opinion, should have been a priority for the Patriots,

and it appears as though they tried to make it a priority, but they clearly didn't do enough.

Is that because they didn't offer enough?

Did they have the best offer on the table when it came to the finances of it?

And Ridley simply said, I ain't going into new england we don't know that just yet it's too early in the process now but

those are questions we will effort to answer and however they're answered it's fascinating to me

because if it's simply that i ain't going to New England, that's a problem for the Patriots.
