Thomas C. Vandavir bicentennial chair at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of

Business. Wright, who is a graduate of our Colson Fellows program, discusses his calling to academia,

particularly to the challenge of teaching

as a Christian at a public university. Here are Johnstone Street and Patrick Wright. Well, welcome

everybody to the Breakpoint podcast. We've been doing a series over the last couple weeks in preparation

And the theme this year for the World Warbur's Weekend is the theme of calling. Now, you've

heard me say this on past episodes. When I was growing up to be called by God to a job was to be called to the mission

field or to be called to be a pastor. John Stott once talked about kind of how we think about

calling. He says, you know, we tell kids that if they're really spiritual to be a missionary,

if they're not quite a spiritual, they'll be a pastor, and if they're really backslidden, they're going to business or worst of all politics. Well, we've got one of those

really bad backslidden guys here as a guest on the Breakpoint podcast to prove to all of us

that calling is not just the kind of the traditional church jobs, but that all of life, because

it's under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, is a place of calling
