Oh, I had so many weird things happen when I was doing that book.

When I was really in the throes of that investigation, people who were with me traveling around

would tell you about the strange energy fields or energy disturbances, things like lights

doing strange stuff or windows suddenly opening all by itself.

I was sitting with Diane Sawyer in her living room and Martha's Vineyard talking about this before.

She and I did a primetime special on it in 2001.

And just as I was beginning to tell her, this wind came blowing through the window in it.

It just smashed this huge glass vase of flowers and just flung it onto the floor.

She and Mike Nichols were sitting there and she was barefoot and glass was everywhere like a bomb went off.

And these are the kinds of really strange things that would happen.

And it's because we don't understand always what we're dealing with.

And that's why they used to say things like if you dine with the devil,

use the long spoon, so to speak, be careful.
