Hey deserving listeners, so in this episode I just want to explain the differences between the YouTube membership program on YouTube and the patron membership program on Patreon.

0:12.0

And I've taken some notes to keep me on track.

0:15.0

So we started the YouTube membership program

0:18.0

about a year ago, I think.

0:20.0

And we've used this past year as a time to gather data. And during that time I experimented with different kinds of perks for the members. I also

0:30.3

experimented with different amounts of time expenditure for myself to see what worked.

0:36.2

and becoming a patron will get you access to exclusive audio

1:14.7

podcast content and the Patreon side it's always been that way since 2015

1:20.4

since we started on Patreon. With the YouTube side, I've kind of been trying to figure out what that is,

1:27.0

but for a while now, we've had this in place

1:30.0

and we're going to continue with that plan.

1:32.0

And so the rest of this video is just an explanation of how we got to that plan.

1:37.0

And so originally, when I first heard about the YouTube Membership Program,

1:41.0

I think a few years ago, I didn't really think it was in the

1:45.0

it was in the cards for psychology in Seattle

1:48.0

because we were already on Patreon
