Today I'm going to be joined by our friend of the show, Pat Flynn.

I ask Pat to come on because a couple questions are regularly asked of me, and they include

how do I make sure that an idea is

going to be viable in the marketplace?

I hear you talking about different business models or I hear, hey, I want to take my business

in a different direction.

How do I make sure that that direction has merit?

How do I make sure that my customers want this new product that we're going to release?

And also we're going to talk about how to get paid up front before a product even exists.

The reason we're talking about this is by following a methodology that Pat is talking about

in his new book, which is called Will It Fly, we can identify how we really can mitigate our risk when taking a new business decision.

Whether it is releasing a new type of product to our existing customers, or it's releasing a brand new product to the marketplace without any foundation, any business experience there are ways to

make sure that it has a desire in the marketplace and we really contest that by getting

people to see by actually pay the vote with their dollars and say I want this thing

we also talk about some of the head noise that goes on in the brains of

entrepreneurs over the sticking points of releasing products to the marketplace, over feeling

confident, over releasing anything, or charging money for anything. And we talk about, is it actually

ethical to charge money for information that's within your head.
