Today's scripture reading is from John 1, John 1 verses 43 through 46.

The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee, finding Philip, he said to him,

follow me, Philip like Andrew and Peter was from the town of Bethseda.

Philip found Nathaniel and told him,

we have found the one Moses wrote about in the law and about whom the prophets also wrote.

Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Nazareth, can anything good come from there?

Come and see, said Philip. This is the word of the Lord.

Let's pray together.

Lord, here we are and I think I can probably speak for various people in this room to say

that we're here to varying degrees right now, Lord.

Some of us on the edge of our seats desperate for a word from you.

Some of us on the edge of our seats desperate to wrap this thing up and get out of here.

Some of us consciously somewhere else later in the day into the week tomorrow already,

stuck in a moment from yesterday.

And so we offer you what we have, which for some of us would be all of us and for some

is probably just a tiny sliver, but you have always made so much out of so little that

we bring.

And we ask for that again today, God, as we just offer you our presence, our attention,

our time.

We pray that you would come and surprise us.

We've been singing all morning about your faithfulness.
