I'm Barbara Schroder, and now, episode two of Bad Bad Thing.

This is Mark Engineer's wedding video from October 23rd, 1993.

Janere looks lovely, she's wearing an off-the-shoulder, long, light wedding gown,

and a small veil that looks like a halo on her curly blonde hair.

Mark is dressed in a traditional black tuxedo, the quintessential handsome young groom.

They're so cute!

There's an old, timeless saying that kind of captures the magic of moments like this

when young couples are starting out.

Here's how it goes.

The grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do,

something to love, and something to hope for.

Mark Engineer had all three of those things when they got married.

Both were in their early 20s, they were building a new life together,

madly in love, and hoping to start great careers after graduating from college.

Their future looked so bright.

And so I was in the wedding together, but absolutely 100% I thought Mark was good match for her.

This is Shelley Bounds, Janere's first and pretty much only childhood friend.

I met Janere when I was eight years old, she was seven.

She was sweet, very sweet, very open, very kind, she was very kind.

Shelley told me that Janere was kind of a lonely kid from a small family,

and that growing up, Janere was a collector of things,

like Barbie dolls and anything to do with birds, bird figurines and paintings.
