He was the British aristocrat and amateur Egyptologist who helped finance the search for King Tut's tomb

When he died two weeks before

Canarvin died a woman named Marie Carelli wrote a letter that was published in the New York World magazine in which he quoted an obscure book that

Dyer punishment would follow any intrusion into a sealed tomb

The Earl though was already in bad health. He had been in an automobile accident in 1901
