0:06.6	podcast. Great to be with you. And today's a part two on how grieving the pandemic can unlock
0:12.7	revelation of God and ourselves. Now, emotionally healthy discipleship is about restoring the missing
0:20.5	pieces of biblical discipleship
0:23.1	into the 21st century global church.
0:27.3	And we, like every church through history, we're products of our culture and our time and
0:31.4	history and the blind stump bots that come with that.
0:35.3	So one of the missing pieces that we talk a lot about in emotionally
0:38.3	healthy discipleship is enlarging your heart through grief and loss or finding God's
0:44.2	treasure in grief and loss. And we talk about that in the emotionally healthy spirituality,
0:47.8	course and the book and the upcoming emotionally healthy discipleship book. It's such a huge
0:52.7	theme in scripture. In fact, there's so much
0:55.2	of it in scripture that we see it in two-thirds of the Psalms, most of the book of Joe, book of
1:00.9	Jeremiah, and again, of course, the whole book of lamentations, life of Jesus, the list goes on.
1:06.6	And, you know, again, understanding Israel and history can't be understood without the destruction of Jerusalem in 586 BC.
1:15.6	That's why we don't have a wailing wall in present-day evangelicalism, the charismatic church.
1:22.8	We may visit the wailing wall in Israel and take a few pictures of it and visit it.
1:26.3	But while it may be a part of ancient Israel's history and spiritual formation,
1:32.3	it is not much of the Western Church's formation today.
1:37.3	And so we find ourselves in need of a very mature application of this biblical truth in the midst of COVID-19,
1:46.6	this global pandemic, where right now at least in the United States, we have over 460,000
1:53.2	people who have died already and it's rising. The grief and loss is massive on many, many
