Now I could come in here and do all kinds of things and it could be superficial and you're jumping and I could get them to do more music and I could get you hopping and all kinds of things.

But that would be the most unloving thing I could ever do. You are dying. Dying! Once again, it is a great privilege for me to be with you here to talk about the things of God.

And as I said in the first session, I want to make it very, very clear.

We're not here to get you excited, emotional, to wind you up like a toy soldier, to think about the things of God,

and then in a few days for it to all wind down

and leave you more bitter than when you started.

This is not about raising hands, counting heads,

or saying this many people got saved or this happened

or that happened. No. You're not numbers. You're not statistics. Your people. And your greatest

need is to know what God has said and to think about it, to think deeply about it, and then to make certain decisions with regard to your life and your relationship with God.

Now in the first sermon, we talked about all of you within 50 years, all of you, or at least the great majority of you, will be dead.

Some of you will be in heaven. Some of you will be in heaven.

Some of you will be in hell.

That's just a fact.

And as I said, that is the painful reality of being a preacher.

You see, when I look at you, this is not a game.

I'm looking at men created in the image of God.

Yet men who have sin, as all have sin, including myself,

and to think that some of you will spend eternity excluded from God, from life itself.

But maybe the worst part of that, and we're going to talk about that in another sermon.

The reality of hell is not exclusion from God, but it's exclusion from the favorable presence of God.

One of the most terrifying things about hell is that God is there in the fullness of his justice and the fullness of his wrath.
