Summary

Despite its grand ambitions, the Virgil expedition has been marred by catastrophic setbacks and tragedy. But after a breathtaking discovery and a good night’s rest, the crew’s feelings of fear and resentment quickly fade. With the bottom of The Bottomless Pit a mere ten minutes away, Marion, Charlie, Marcus and Sam find time to focus on work and recreation.
