Hey, guys. Welcome back to Kindled. I'm your host, Haley Williams. Today I have a conversation for you

around the topic of Candace Owens and the investigation that she has been doing on her daily YouTube show.

Now, this is obviously a cultural phenomenon in this moment. Her show has skyrocketed to

the number one show in the world. Okay, so this is a big deal. It's a huge deal. I don't think we can

overstate how much influence Candace Owens has and is having on our culture and on individuals.

And that especially pertains to Christians and conservative Christians who have been a large

part of her audience in the past.

What I want to preface this conversation by saying is that one of the main arguments against talking about it that I am

seeing online right now is, hey, let's just stop talking about it. Why does everyone have to have an

opinion? If you want to watch it, watch it. If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it, right?

Like, don't get keep people. Don't tell people not to watch things. And I just want to point out as Christians, we actually have a way higher standard than that. It's not, like, we are not just left to ourselves to decide, hey, like, I'm just going to, you know, keep, it's none of my business, right? I'm going to keep my nose out of other people's business about what they're watching. We're actually called as believers to a much higher standard, and that is the

standard of Christ, the standard of speaking the truth, the standard of what scripture lays out as far as

how we do that, how we pursue justice. All of these things are things that are in scripture's domain.

And so anything the Bible speaks to and anything God's word gives us instructions on,

we're not permitted to just like go over and around those things.

And so as Christians, when we see a brother or sister becoming susceptible to not just one person's message, but trusting

someone who may not have their best interest at heart or who we see does not have the

truth about ultimate reality, does not perhaps have a biblical worldview, it becomes a burden on us to help guide, help give

instruction, help give wisdom, right? That's on us as believers, because out of love, we want to

keep those that we care about safe from false teaching, safe from harm, safe

from being misled, safe from falling into all kinds of various things that are possible

through this whole conversation.
