2022 has been a great year for original horror films, in theaters and beyond.

Yes, there are always franchises, Halloween ends,

scream, hellraiser, pray, and the other perennials.

But for years, we've been decrying the death of originals,

especially on the big screen,

where we can share our horrific experience with an eager crowd,

because, as we often say here, horror is best and most effective, shared.

It has been a rich and surprising abundance of wealth,

primarily in the independent world.

But when the studios have found that originals can and do work in theaters

as well as on their streaming platforms, all bets are off.

Take Thai West, as his double play of X and Pearl are shining examples,
