Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling podcast with Benji Nice and one of the craziest days of cycling. I've watched maybe since the plan to be a few stage 20 ITT last year and compounded with that excitement.

My internet just went down at two in the morning, so we've had a one hour delay. That's why the pod might be getting to your ears a little bit late. It's my fault.

We've seen it at the healthy aging tour this week looking I'd say not even arguable. It's in arguable that they are the best kid in that race compared to all the other kids that light blue or if it's turquoise. I'm not quite sure I'm not a specialist in that regard.

But enough of that. Paranise stage eight will do first. This is a correct going to be a crazy recap. 90 kilometers stage three category are three climbs really four caves at three percent four percent code to derain us not a particularly terrifying climb but technical dissents.

Roblish crashed at 20k's into the stage I saw on race radio and but there was no live images at that stage we saw photos of teammates pacing him back on.

A break struggled to form after 30k's of riding and then eventually there was one with rich to clerk Biss from turns and co they would join by other writers later.

Jumbo Visma and Boregal pacing them at 36 seconds all was well.

Roblish 52 second lead on GC looked fine over Shaqman but then it all turned to shit with 25k's to go Benji.

What was the first signs of distress for Roblish?

Yes we had on the screen suddenly an image of Roblish being 50 meters behind the peloton group riding at the head of a second group

with Demar behind them and a few teammates of them are so something happened in descent.

Now it's been a few minutes since the race ended so we've got a rough idea of what happened which is good.

We can get into detail now so your internet falling out gave us a bit more knowledge about what happened so I guess it's a

low-quiet advantage indeed and in that descent we had Jumbo that was relatively at the front of the peloton.

Roblish as well in that group and apparently according to Christman who said it after the stage ended and also according to Laflamrouj who investigated it intelligently on Twitter.

Well he crashed in the last corner of the descent with a good 30kms to go and.

What's interesting there is that it looked like perhaps he was in the wheels of the Ambo riders because the image we saw was him basing alone in a second group to the peloton group.
