Summary

As parents, we would stop at nothing to do what’s best for our children. But sometimes, what’s best isn’t black and white. If you’re navigating the difficult world of parenthood, today’s episode will help you intuitively recognize your child’s needs by honoring something that isn’t often given enough credit - your child’s own intuition. Rachel shares the story of how Lea slowly found her place in Sweden. It hasn’t been an easy transition! Moving from a wonderful, supportive school in Aruba, it has taken some time to adjust to something new. Rachel discusses the anxiety she has felt, the challenges she’s had along the way, and the real reason why they ultimately changed Lea’s school. Sometimes a small intuitive pull is enough. You don’t need a big sweeping reason why something feels wrong. You can sense it - but more importantly, so can you child. Today on the show, I talk about a major struggle that we have been moving through since we moved from

0:06.8

Aruba to Sweden. And that is Leia's schooling. I talk about my anxiety around taking her out of

0:14.8

an amazing school to move her across the world, hoping things would be smooth and seamless,

0:20.3

and actually having that experience turn out being very, very hard. I talk a little bit about

0:26.5

the differences between a walldorf and a Montessori-style school, and share my own experience of

0:32.7

following my intuition and really trusting my gut to be brave enough to make a change when things

0:38.7

didn't work out. It's a good episode, I think, especially if you're a parent or if you are moving

0:44.1

through any kind of life transition right now. Hello, hello, hello, my darlings, and welcome back to

0:55.0

a brand new episode of the show. I am sitting here feeling a little bit contemplative right now.

1:04.1

I actually did the thing that I do sometimes very rarely, but sometimes I do where I sit down

1:11.3

and I record a whole entire episode of the show. I just did that literally, just now. And at the end,

1:19.1

I'm like, I'm not feeling it. I don't know. It's really rare, but it just sometimes happens that I

1:27.9

record a whole hour episode, and then there's something about the energy inside of myself when

1:36.8

I'm done recording that just felt like, was that the closest to truth that you could go,

1:42.8

that you could be in this moment? Was that really it? And probably, probably not, actually.

1:49.8

I spoke for a little bit. Actually, maybe I'm going to end up recording the same kind of episode

1:57.7

with a different vibe. I don't know. I don't know what's going on right now. I just try to really

2:02.3

be very intuitive about what I do these days. And let's see where this exact moment takes us.

2:10.9

I think what we really need, I have a feeling, is a moment to ground. Yeah. Let's do that.

2:22.7

So wherever you are, whatever you have going on, we're not going to spend too long doing this.

2:29.6

But see if you can, you know, uncross your legs a little bit, find a more comfortable seat.

2:34.5

See if there's something in your body that is feeling a little bit tense in this moment.
