Summary

If relational discipleship isn’t strong in your home, you are likely moving towards pharisaical Christianity which will hurt your legacy. What happens in the home is the largest difference maker on experiencing a faith-filled legacy or not. Unfortunately too many Christian parents believe their being effective when God has actually called us to a deeper level of relational discipleship with their children. This episode will help you see if there are any areas you have a pharisaical home, or if it’s truly one of cultivating deep relationships with you, their siblings, and with Jesus. It’s also vital that discipleship is woven through the fabric of your everyday parenting. Here’s a warning: If you don’t reach their hearts early, it will only be harder as they get older when it matters most. You need their hearts to be able to continue discipling them well into the teenage years too. While it’s never too late, there’s also no time to spare as so many children from christian homes are getting lured into following the patterns of the world.

don't we, Isaac? Yeah, I mean, I think that we all agree that we don't want to do that, but

it seems many are.

Many Christian homes are actually raising up Pharisees.

They don't even realize it.

And because 75% of the kids are leaving the church page 18, raised in Christian homes.

0:30.6

So what do you do about that?

0:31.6

How do you know if that's happening in your family, the practicals on how to change that based on age categories. We broke it down.

0:39.5

Because discipleship must be woven through the fabric of your everyday life. How does that happen?

0:44.5

We break it down in this and we give the warnings that you must hear in these times.

Hey, parenting is a journey, but it's so important that it's a biblical journey and that it's not just this thing that because you're a Tulpa and you're a Christian and that starts to get in people's minds and our families, but instead that we are in love with the Lord and our children are following after the Lord and want to obey

him with their lives. Isn't that what we all want? You know, it's interesting. We've been studying

through the book of John in our church, but then also just looking at other gospels. We see over

1:24.4

and over again where Jesus is warning people to not be like the Pharisees,

1:48.4

whether it's, don't be like the Pharisees when they pray or the hypocrites. Don't be like them when they fast. Don't be like them like this. He uses Levin as a warning within the church. He's like, hey, a little leaven leaven's the whole lump, be aware of bad influences or nominalness, if you will. And it's just, what's interesting is that this is like a key thing that not only do we need to practice in our homes, but we need to teach our kids to be able to be discerning.

1:52.3

Because influences are incredibly important.

1:56.5

They, hey, I've said it to my kids over and over again.

1:59.8

You become like who you hang out with.

2:01.9

So I know that that's true of myself.

2:04.6

Like if I am, if I am surrounded by people who are prayer warriors, I tend to pray more, actually,
