And today we're going to be

reviewing the 2007 horror film Paranormal Activity, written and directed by Oren Pelly and

starring Katie Featherston and Mika Sloat. In this film, a young couple faces off with some

paranormal forces and a dangerous amount of male toxicity.

As usual, Brian and I are going to have a spoiler-free discussion up front on the background of this film, and then after a short musical break, we'll start to dive into the plot,

our review, and we'll also hit the spoilers.

Brian, had you seen this one recently?

No, I don't think I had seen it since theaters, maybe.

Yeah, I think the same, which, like, I guess it's been 13 years, or I guess 12 years, right, since it was 2009?

Yeah, it wasn't released in theaters, wide release until 2009.

Yeah, that's crazy.

I figured we would have seen this between then and now given how big of a film it is.

Right? I'm surprised I haven't, unless I didn't forgot.

Yeah, yeah, I know.

I think it was because there were so many sequels over the years. It was just like, well, I'll just watch this new one.

Yeah, that'll keep you from going back to the original, right? If you just keep the franchise going?
