Oh my gear a little bit.

Some of you have asked me about gear, what kind of gear I use, some of you have even said,

why don't you do some gear reviews? Well, I'm just not qualified to do gear reviews.

When it comes into big items, I use them until I wear them out and then I replace them.

So I really can't, I'm not qualified to sit here and say, well, this is a better pack,

backpack than this one or a better sleeping bag. When it comes to the big items,

I usually use them until I wear them out. I take a lot of time to research what I'm buying,

so I'm sure that when I spend my money, I'm getting the best product to suit my needs.

But what I've decided to do, instead of sitting here and doing a 40 or 60 minute long segment

on my gear and going through item by item, I'm going to break it down into systems because

that's pretty much how I pack, how I approach packing my gear and how I treat it. I have it broken

down into systems. I have a sleep system, a cook system, then I have my first aid and hygiene

part of my pack, water filtration and what have you, hydration. So what I think I might do

is do some episodes about my gear, looking at a system by system instead of just throwing it all

out there in one episode because I've seen some of these episodes and, you know, I love our
