So, Burdo, for the past couple years, I've been wanting to do an episode in which we talk about the pandemic,

0:05.7

in which we summarize the entire experience, because there's so much to talk about in terms of

0:11.9

what it was like and the psychology and our personal experiences, because it was such a weird,

0:17.6

unique time that we might literally never experience again, or at least in that way, right? Because it's,

0:23.2

if we have other moments like that, maybe they'll be similar, but not our first rodeo when it comes

0:28.3

to this sort of thing, you know what I mean? And I have been waiting for the pandemic to end,

0:34.2

but it's not ending, Burdo, so I thought we would just sort of arbitrarily pick now, which is

0:40.3

January of 2023 to review the past almost three years. What do you say, Burdo? Let's do it.

This is the Psychology and Seattle podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Kirk Honda. I'm a therapist and a

0:53.2

professor. My name is Alberto Castaña, and I'm the president of the Hibiscus Denial Society.

1:13.3

calendar, and I've had pretty detailed digital Gmail calendar. I looked at news articles from the time

1:21.7

and timelines that show day by day, not only in the world, not only in the United States, not

1:28.1

only Washington State, but Seattle. There are different compilations of timelines that break down.

1:34.3

Because to me, I was trying to figure out when did the lockdown exactly happen? Remember,

1:39.6

it was a day that suddenly everything was different. I kind of wanted to get into that. And I also

1:45.6

read my journal and asked Stacey and other people what their memories were, and so I compiled

1:50.0

this episode. And this episode is going to be real long. In fact, I'm guessing it's going to be

1:54.8

multi-part. Multi-part? Multi-part. Yeah. So it's for the purpose not only of trying to create content

2:02.5

that is interesting for the listeners, but also, Alberto, I just need to explore this.

2:07.8

Document, yeah. Like we got to say what happened. Well, not only document, you know, for, I guess,
