Fares Abraham is a Palestinian Christian. He was born in the West Bank. His wife was born in Gaza—in the Al-Ahli Baptist hospital recently bombed despite the belief that a Christian hospital was the safest place to be in all of Gaza. How should Christians respond to the tragedies taking place in Israel and Palestine?First and foremost, we must pray for peace—for all people. We are all made in the image of God and we must pray for both Israelis and Palestinians—for the Israeli leaders and even the leaders of Hamas who committed unspeakable atrocities. Let us remember that the Apostle Paul once persecuted—terrorized—Christians before his life was transformed by Gospel of peace. 0:47.9	Ferris Abraham. He has been a friend of mine for many years. We have traveled to the Middle East together. I don't know
0:56.1	that anybody knows more about what is going on, on the ground, in the Middle East, from a
1:04.3	Christian perspective, than Ferris Abraham. And so I'm looking forward to this podcast.
1:10.3	Before we get into the podcast itself, just before I was walking into the studio, I was
1:16.6	talking to my son David and my personal assistant, Stephen, about the Lord's words,
1:22.6	because these words actually came to my mind as a result of Ferris.
1:28.0	When I talked to him personally about the situation in the Middle East,
1:32.5	the first thing he always thinks about is the salvation of people, the reaching and the teaching.
1:40.9	And so the thing that came to my mind immediately when I thought of Ferris Abraham were the words of our Lord.
1:48.8	Our Lord was in the northwest, the Sea of Galilee, Mount of Beatitudes.
1:54.5	I've been there myself, and I've actually quoted the entire sermon on the Mount, 111 verses on the Mount of Beatitudes.
2:01.5	And I've done in an extemporaneous fashion so that people would think I'm just talking.
2:05.8	And I remember that my God, Yuval Ross, who was a Jewish military man, thought I was actually giving my own sermon.
