Who are the Baluch?

The Baluchest stand that I see on the map is partly in Pakistan. The across several borders, the Iraqi, the Iranian.

However, the Beluch over these last years have been known as challenging both Islamabad, the

capital of Pakistan, and Tehran, the capital of Pakistan and Iran the capital of Iran. I also remind myself that

Ramza Youssef and Kalecheek Mohammed, two of the authors of the 9-11

attack decades ago, are Ethnicuch. To help me understand who the Baluch are and why they're

in the news again with an exchange of war fighting between Iran and Pakistan, ostensibly targeting the Baloch, I welcome Arif Rafiq,

the editor-in-chief and the boss of Globally News.

The Baluch, I'm told they're poor they look to be they're said to be a

threat to both Pakistan's governance and Iran's governance what drives the baluch What is their motive? Good evening to you.

Hi John, thank you for having me on. Well, the Baloch or an ethnic group that as you said

are split between multiple countries. Many are based in Pakistan, others are based in Iran,

and then there are some in Afghanistan as well.

And then there's a Balochi diaspora that exists in the Persian Gulf

and East Africa.

But in terms of the conflict, in terms of violence that centers

around the Baloch, that largely covers the Iran-Pakistan border area and so the Baloch are very much like the Kurds

they're split into multiple countries they don't have a state of their own and
