Plan A. Ask almost anyone how they liked their life to go, and they can give you the basics of their plan A.

For Laura Story and her husband Martin, they were well on their way. Martin was going to get a good job.

Laura would help out at church,

but stay home and raise their kids. Not long after they were married, there was a detour.

Martin was diagnosed with a brain tumor. That began a journey with Martin's health and a journey

of learning about surrendering her plans and embracing gods. Here's Laura. So Martin and I've been

married for 15 years. We just celebrated 15 years together. And they have been wonderful years and

they've been hard years. And anyone that's been married more than like 15 minutes, it can be

wonderful and hard all at the same time. And for us, things got hard

pretty early on within the first two years of our marriage, Martin was diagnosed with a brain

tumor. And we met with the neurosurgeon that told us about the brain surgery that Martin

needed and listed this long list of potential complications that

were terrifying everything from, you know, he might not make it through the surgery. He may

completely lose his vision. He may end up, uh, not remembering anything about his life beforehand,

which is just crazy to think about, you know,
