Jason Gray is a singer and songwriter who is known for tackling deep theological truth.

He does it in a way that's so relatable.

In fact, it makes you feel like he knows exactly what you're going

through. He built his life and a very successful career on his faith. But then he walked through

an experience so painful and so lonely, the foundation of faith began to crumble. Here's Jason.

As a fan, we often go to concerts and listen to people on the radio. And for better, for worse, there is this assumption that you've got it all together. And we have this tendency to want to go, if I could just have a life like them. Yes. And then I heard your song, not Right Now on the radio. And I thought, whoever wrote this,

and I even went to look to see if you wrote it or whoever wrote this, this came out of a really

deeply, a personal place of what sounded to me like disappointment. Sure. Yeah. You know,

before I go into the personal aspect of it, I should also

explain at the beginning here if people are hearing me for the first time I do have a speech

impediment known as stuttering. So it's not because Meredith's making me nervous or anything like that.

But, you know, I think of as songs as tools in a toolbox, you know,

and I wanted to make sure that I want to make sure that I have a good toolbox, you know.

And it seemed important to have a song dedicated to grief, you know, to grieving,

especially since grieving is so, it's so complicated for us.
