And so my anger was like, I have to even more so control everything.

I have to even more so rely on myself because I can't trust anything that I used to know.

Hi, this is Meredith Foster. Jen Poolooler had always tried to play by the rules.

If she did what she was supposed to do, if she checked all the boxes, then life should be good, right?

God would surely bless her and protect her from bad things. It's a line of reasoning that we

often believe without even realizing it.

But when Jen was 17, an accident changed her life.

It set up a collision between her attempts at controlling life, and really it was controlling

God through her good behavior, and the reality that sometimes God allows difficult things

in our lives.

Jen had worked so hard to do things right.

And now everything seemed to have gone wrong.

I grew up in a Christian home.

I was baptized at age three.

I thought I had this faith thing like figured out.
