It was that quick, where all of a sudden, as it so often goes in life, everything is fine and then everything is not fine.

And you have this adversity.

Something happens.

And what do you do?

God's story has been unfolding.

Since the beginning of time.

He invites you to be a part of it.

Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

Brett Bairns was a guy with a dream, a plan, and the drive to make it all happen.

He was hardwired for hard work and achieving goals.

He knew as a teenager exactly what he wanted to do.

His dream job was to get paid every day to think and talk and write about sports. And he was on his way to achieving that dream when an accident altered the course of his life. The word miracle gets used a lot, but in Brett's case, it's appropriate. One day while he was working a summer job helping construct cell phone towers,

he fell six stories. That's about 80 feet, a trauma that very few could survive. And in those few

seconds, Brett's life changed forever. Did not have a relationship with Christ, didn't grow up,

going to church and knowing all of the quote-unquote songs and everything else, that everyone else gets that experience that is, you know, in the church. And that was okay. We were really good people growing up. My parents raised us to, you know, do the right thing and always be respectful and all of that, but we just didn't have a relationship with Christ. And so met this girl in high school, who I still know today, and it's kind of funny. And she invited me to come to church, was dating

her at the time. And so as any good sophomore and high school boyfriend would do, I just said,

yeah, sure, okay. Like, if that's what you want me to do, then that's great. And so I was trying to learn how to play the guitar then. And they had a guitar at this church. And so I was intrigued and tried to figure it out. And, you know, started a relationship with Christ and became baptized. And through a period of time, started to learn and go to Sunday school and had some other friends that were going to this church. And so that helped because, you know, there was some of a friendly face there. And so had some other, especially guy friends that were

there. And God started moving. Eventually got baptized in this church. Wow. My sister started
