Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

Jeremiah 29-11 was Brenda Nevitt's favorite verse.

It says, I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Brenda had an idea of what that future would look like.

She and her husband, BG, would continue to work in ministry. They'd watch their daughters grow up,

get married, have grandchildren. But what happens when your future turns out nothing like what you'd imagined? Where do you find hope when your world is shattered? It was 2013, and I remember thinking, this is just going to be a great year.

I was so excited.

As a matter of fact, I even went into my husband's office at home and said, you know what,

I think it's going to be the best year yet.

We had been at our church for 22 years at that time, and I just felt like

it was going to be a great year for the church, and it was going to be a great year for us personally,

and it was for about four weeks. And I was sitting in a meeting at our church, and I started

not feeling very well. I was in charge of a

conference that weekend. This was on a Tuesday. The conference started on a Friday. I had a lot

of responsibility and I wasn't feeling well. So when the meeting got done, I'm like, no problem.
