Hi, this is Meredith Foster.

Carissa Carroll is a planner.

She had a vision, an idea of what she wanted her life, her marriage, and her family to be like.

While she didn't welcome hardship, she'd been through enough in life to know that God is faithful and he carries you through hard things.

But when her son Jack was born, it seemed to be completely off script.

It was not at all how she imagined their life was going to be. I actually grew up in rural

Minnesota in a very small community, and I'm the youngest of three kids. You know, grew up in a Christian

home, and I describe it as my mom always brought us to church, and that was really instrumental in

just us understanding God's love for us. But a part of that childhood also included my dad's

a recovering alcoholic. So there were many memories that were really painful. And I'm thankful in middle school, he went and

surrendered his addiction and got help and has been sober for 25 years. Wow. But just really was

involved in, you know, activities. And. But church was a really big part of our lives. And I reflect

on just so many people in the church loving us through some really difficult seasons. And so that really

impacted how I just saw God being faithful through really
