Alaska cruises aren't anything like Caribbean cruises when it comes to what to wear.

With that, figuring out what to pack for your cruise will likely result in a vastly different luggage contents than any cruise to Mexico or St. Thomas.

This week, we turned to an Alaska

cruise and packing expert Sherry from Cruise Tips TV to help us figure out what are the essential

items to pack for a cruise to Alaska. Here we go. Perhaps you've been on a lot of cruises before

and think you've got a pretty good handle on how to pack for a cruise vacation, but packing for

an Alaska cruise, that's an entirely different experience. Packing for

an Alaska cruise is much different than packing for other destinations like the Caribbean.

Given its northerly position and varied geography from mountains and oceans to glaciers and

tundra, you can experience several microclimates in a short amount of time, which can mean

extreme temperature changes

in one place and mild conditions in the next.

When packing for Alaska Cruise, you have to think about formal nights, what do you wear

for cocktail evenings, casual days, swimming, sitting by the pool, and on top of that, you've also

got to figure out we're going to be wearing when you go on your land adventures and excursions

and heading into Alaska towns for shopping and dining.

As you can already tell, that's a lot to consider.

While I'm by no means a packing expert, I do know someone who is as knowledgeable at packing
